‪Apple Store on New Street has been evacuated after a suspicious package was handed in.

Officers are currently assessing the situation and cordoned off the store as a precautionary measure.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police, said: “Police have cordoned off a small section of New Street as a precaution following reports that a suspicious package was handed in to the Apple Store.

The store has been evacuated as a precaution while specialist officers examine the package.”

Members of the public advised to AVOID the area until further notice.

UPDATE 21/12 10:50AM – The store has reopened and cordon lifted.
