Armed police dispatched to Northfield Shopping Centre following reports of a man carrying an axe.

Police, including armed officers, were dispatched to Grovenor Shopping Centre on Bristol Road in Northfield this morning (29/03), following reports of a man carrying an axe.

Inspector Matt Minton, said: “There was no trace of the man; we’ve not received any reports of people being threatened or assaulted.

If anyone saw the man, or believes they know who it was, I’d ask them to call us so we can make contact with him.

We’d always encourage people to be vigilant and report ant concerns or suspicious behaviour they witness.”
