Officers have launched an investigation after Barclays Bank on Aldridge High Street was raided by three men at around 9:30AM this morning (09/12).

The men reversed a blue ford transit van into the front of the bank but they struggled to enter due to a Christmas tree in the window.

@HaroonTQureshi, who captured the incident on camera, said: “Three people reversed that van about 3 times to smash windows then all of them ran after a minute. Empty handed I think.”

The group fled the scene empty handed after around a minute inside the bank. The van has been taken from the scene for forensic investigation.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police, said: “The men were seen running away from the bank towards Little Aston Road. Officers are in the area continuing to search for the suspects.”

No one was injured during the incident and Aldridge High Street remains open to the public.
