Body discovered on the railway line in Nuneaton.

Train services are currently disrupted after a body was discovered on the railway line in Nuneaton.

Emergency services were called to the line near Stoney Road, at around 8:30AM this morning (12/01), to reports of a body being found.

On arrival, Officers from British Transport Police and Paramedics discovered a body – the gender is not known at this stage – that had been struck by a train.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a coroner will confirm the cause of death in due course.

Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.

Train lines between Nuneaton and Atherstone are currently experiencing delays of around 20 mins. Disruption is expect to around 12:30PM today.
