Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in a Birmingham street have charged a man with murder.
Abdul Khaya was last night charged with murdering father-of-two Bile Mohammed Siyad on Coventry Road in Small Heath in the early hours of Saturday morning (3/11).
It’s alleged Khaya stabbed the 41-year-old in the head with a knife following a dispute over money.
Mr Siyad, also aged 41, was treated by paramedics following the 5am attack but sadly later died in hospital.
West Midlands Police has released a photo of the victim and a tribute on behalf of his family who described him as a “wonderful, hard-working man” who was well respected in the community.
The tribute reads: “Bile was a wonderful man, loved by his family especially his two children; he was hard-working and well-respected in the community. His loss has devastated all who knew him and we would like to be left alone in our grief as we pull together as a family.”
Abdul Khaya is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (6/11) charged with murder.
West Midlands Police’s Homicide Team are still appealing for information in connection with the stabbing or any witnesses who have not yet come forward.
