‘Don’t Plonk It – Park It!’ – that’s the message from West Midlands Police to inconsiderate motorists.

Sergeant Rich Cruickshank and colleagues from West Midlands Police have been issuing ‘Don’t Plonk It – Park It!’ leaflets across the region as part of their daily patrol.

The leaflets contain information highlighting the dangers of pavement parking.

Sergeant Cruickshank, said: “This is a serious issue that can be extremely dangerous for visually impaired people and people with pushchairs and we want to raise awareness of the difficulties these obstructions can cause for many people.

On operations, officers will take the details of vehicles issued with an advisory notice and will take enforcement action should the vehicle be found obstructing a pavement again which could mean a £30 fine.”
