Birmingham Cathedral, which is situated within in Pigeon Park on Colmore Row, has started a collection for winter coats for the homeless and people in need.

A spokesperson from the Cathedral, said: “We will be displaying winter coats outside from Friday 1st December.

These will be available to the homeless and people in need.

Anyone able to donate a coat, please bring it along to the cathedral or contact liz.wood@birminghamcathedral.com”

It is a real shame that this scheme is needed in the second city of the United Kingdom, but it’s good to see our wonderful city coming together to help eachother.

Please donate if you can and give the gift of warmth this Christmas time.
