We spend years investing into our children and we often ask them what profession they want to pursue, be it hairdressing, engineering, construction etc. But, should we be asking them to define the profession, or to define the skills?
Identifying their skills and passions, means they can target the desired profession with a clear understanding of what their strengths are, what they want to achieve in the long-term, and the environments they thrive in.
There’ll be hundreds of employers on hand to talk one-to-one about their respective industries, training, apprenticeships and job opportunities. But, what really sets this event apart is the ‘have-a-go’ element, allowing them to immerse themselves in activities, challenges, simulators and tasks from five different sectors; creative and design, digital and business, engineering and technology, construction and logistics, and health and hospitality.
They can also rub shoulders with the UK’s finest young talent and watch as they compete in their industry skills competitions; many of whom go on to represent the UK at The World Skills Championships.
Or how about Masterclasses from previous competitors, who have since represented the UK internationally, covering topics on cyber security, carpentry, media makeup and special effects, and more. But be quick, only five spaces available for each on Saturday – book today.
