Lorry driver sadly dies following a multi-vehicle collision the M6.

A lorry driver has sadly died following a collision involving two HGVs and two cars on the M6 in Warwickshire this morning (29/09).

Emergency services were called to the M6 southbound carriageway between J4 and J3, at around 9.25AM, to reports a serious collision.

On arrival, crews discovered two HGVs and two cars that had been in collision in lane one of the motorway.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “The driver of one of the HGVs, a man, had suffered extremely serious injuries in the collision.

“Unfortunately it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The second lorry driver, also a man, was uninjured.

“One of the cars contained two men who were treated at the scene for minor injuries but they did not require hospital treatment.

“Neither did the driver of the second car, an elderly man, who was uninjured in the incident.”

The carriageway remains closed whilst police conduct a scene investigation and recover the vehicles involved.

Motorists are advised to follow the “Hollow Square” diversion symbols exiting the M6 at J4 onto the A446 (southbound) then take the A45 (eastbound) to the A46 (Tollbar End). Join the A46 (northbound) and continue to the M6 and re-join at J2.
