Man arrested at Birmingham Airport on suspicion of funding terrorism.

A man, aged 32, from Coventry, has been arrested at Birmingham Airport on suspicion of funding terrorism.

The man was detained by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit this morning (27/10) and remains in custody.

A spokesperson from West Midland Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “The arrest is part of a continuing investigation into the financing of terrorism and was intelligence-led.

There was no risk to any passengers at Birmingham Airport or to the wider public in relation to the arrest.”
