Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed on Tenby Road in Moseley.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, just after 10.50PM on Sunday (06/08), where a man was found injured.

The man, aged 40, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. A forensic post mortem will take place later today.

A cordon is currently in place in Tenby Road while forensic investigations are carried out.

Detectives are making door-to-door enquiries as they seek to establish what happened in the build up to the stabbing.

They are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the attack to come forward.

Detective Inspector Paul Joyce, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have heard anything which could assist our investigation.

“A man has tragically lost his life and we need to establish why he was the target of such a brutal attack.

“We have specialist officers supporting the victim’s family members and we want to help give them answers by catching whoever was responsible.”
