Police are appealing for information following a serious collision on Lichfield Road in Aston this morning (6/12).
A woman pedestrian pushing her five-month-old child in a pram was hit by a car at around 10:50am while crossing the road.
She’s been taken to hospital with serious injuries; the child was uninjured but has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the car has stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquires.
Lichfield Road is currently closed in both directions.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We’re currently in the process of piecing together what happened leading up to the collision. We’re collating and reviewing CCTV footage, speaking to the driver and taking statements from witnesses.
“It happened near to the railway bridge and I would urge anyone who saw anything to get in touch as soon as possible.”
