Chief Superintendent Kenny Bell, from Birmingham East Police, is appealing for witnesses after two police cars were damaged as officers attended a Remembrance parade in Erdington on Sunday (12/11).

Officers along with members of the community, were taking part in a Remembrance parade that was being held at Brookvale Park in Erdington when two men took the opportunity smash the windows of the cars.

Shortly after, two men were spotted driving off towards Brookvale village on a moped.

Officers have been trawling CCTV in the area and are also appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Chief Superintendent Bell, said: “It is absolutely disgusting how these individuals took advantage of a time when my officers were marching shoulder to shoulder with members of the community during Remembrance parades.

“I would urge anyone with information to get in touch so that we can bring those who committed this cowardly crime to justice.”

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed two people acting suspiciously on a moped in the area.
