Shop worker threatened with a gun during a robbery in Bartley Green

Detectives have launched an investigation after a shop worker was threatened with a gun during a robbery at a William Hill bookmakers on Woodgate Lane this morning (13/02).

A man walked into the shop, at around 11.30AM, and demanded cash whilst pointing a gun wrapped in a bin liner at the staff member.

The employee handed over an amount of money and the offender, who is described as black, around six feet tall and of medium build, then fled on foot.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police, said: “Officers are examining CCTV and making house to house enquiries but anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting crime number 20BW/31539J/17.”
