The beloved Big Mac is celebrating its half a century on Wednesday (7/2). Yes, burger fans have been gobbling away at the tasty treat since 1968. And we’re not at all shocked by its staying power. Filled with cheese, lettuce, onion, pickles, peppery beef patties and their iconic special sauce, it aims to please and has done since it made its first appearance all those years ago.

And the best news? To commemorate the occasion McDonald’s will be releasing the Grand Mac and its younger sibling Mac Jnr across the UK. Welcome news to Maccie’s devotees who have waited patiently for this announcement! Myself included!

After much pleading with the fast-food giants to bring the versions over to Britain, they have finally listened! Both are great additions to the menu for those who like to customise their meal and still get to relish the taste of the most famous burger in the world!

We’re particularly excited about the Grand Mac (naturally!) as it promises double the trouble. Two larger patties and twice the fillings may mean extra time on the treadmill for us. However we are more than willing to work hard, given the special occasion!

The hilarious Big 50 promotional video for the celebratory meal features Big Narstie and Birmingham’s very own Lady Leshurr. The pair engage in a grime battle that sees them list the titan’s signature ingredients. Looks like we aren’t the only ones excited about the launch!

We will warn you now, the two new burgers are limited edition. Catch yours before they leave us on 20th March 2018.

Happy Birthday Big Mac, we’ll certainly raise a milkshake to you!
