Police have launched an investigation after a school boy, aged 7, was hit by a bus in Winson Green this afternoon (10/07). 

Emergency services were dispatched to the junction of Camden Street and Ellen Street in Winson Green, following reports of two school children being hit by a double decker bus. 

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that a boy, aged 7, was seriously injured and the other, aged 12, was unhurt, but shaken by the incident. Both were taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. 

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police, said: “The seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious head injuries; however his condition is not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

“A 12-year-old boy who was with him at the time of the crash was taken to hospital as a precaution and, although shaken by what happened, he has not sustained any injuries.”
