Following their triumphant performance of Half a Sixpence in June, Birmingham’s award-winning BMOS Musical Theatre Company returns to The Alexandra Theatre next week with a fantastic production of everyone’s favourite festive musical – A Christmas Carol.

Ebeneezer Scrooge is a prosperous and miserly old man who believes his personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness of others, especially at Christmas. With an infuriated ‘Bah! Humbug!’ Scrooge is forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his past, present and future in a classic story of redemption and forgiveness.

Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Little Shop Of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once On This Island) breathe fantastic new life into this classic tale, which is guaranteed to deliver some festive cheer to all the family.

BMOS – Birmingham Musical Operatic Society – is an amateur company and registered charity which regularly performs in professional theatre and has adult members aged from 16 to 70. BMOS dates back to 1886 when The Birmingham Opera Society was founded, with the Midland Opera Society founded in 1916. The two companies merged in 1927 to become the Birmingham and Midland Operatic Society (BMOS) – making it the 10th oldest amateur theatre company in the UK. Funding from donations and ticket sales are vital for BMOS to keep operating and allowing talented local non-professional performers to be on a professional stage – doing what they love.

A Christmas Carol runs at The Alexandra Theatre from Tuesday 26th – Saturday 30th November.

General Tickets are available from £18.40 and can be purchased by calling 0844 871 3011 or visiting their website here:
