Aston Expressway and M6 closed during morning rush hour after a woman was spotted on bridge.

The Aston Expressway and the M6 between junctions 5 and 6 was closed this morning (10/05) after a woman was spotted on the wrong side of a motorway bridge.

Officers brought the vulnerable woman to safety at around 10AM. She’s now being looked after by medical professionals.

Diversions were put in place while emergency services responded.

Supt Dean Hatton from Central Motorway Police Group, said: “I would like to thank the public for their patience during this morning’s incident. We have worked very closely with Highways England colleagues to ensure the safety of everyone involved.”
