The Dating Show Live is coming to The NEC Birmingham on 29th and 30th June 2019. This event for singles is packed with stalls, dating experts, and fun experiences that will help you meet new people and maybe find ‘the one’! Hosted by Joey Essex and in partnership with First Dates TV this is an event not to be missed. Either go as a group of friends or brave it alone – there’s lots of fun to be had!

  1. First Dates pop up café!

Have you always wanted to be on First Dates, but didn’t know how to grab Fred’s attention? Worry no more! First Dates has a pop-up café at the event where you can book a table, chat with Merlin at the bar, and meet the casting team. They will also have scouts wandering around the venue throughout the weekend. Perhaps you will be in the next season!

  1. Efficient daters!

Are you an efficient dater? Did you know that statistically, your odds are better the more people you meet? Then you should take advantage of the event’s speed dating activities!

The Dating Show Live knows that some people excel at getting to know people so they have arranged hourly speed dating sessions where you can test your dating skills. Alternately, if you’re feeling brave, you could go to one of Laura Asprey’s mixers. Laura is the face of The Ultimate Matchmaker TV show and is well regarded for her matchmaking abilities – it’s daunting, but you could come out with a great catch!

  1. A more mature experience

This event is not just for speedy daters, there are more sedate activities as well. If you are a more mature dater why not join the ballroom lessons? There you can learn a new skill while meeting new people! There are also salsa and rock and roll classes for those who would rather fling themselves around the room!

  1. Fun and unusual activities!

Are you someone who just wants to have fun? Then why not try one of the many silly activities the event has on offer?! Come with friends or make a connection while trying one of their enjoyable experiences. There is a roller rink, a virtual reality tandem zipwire (gulp!), and a bucking bronco. You’re bound to find something to talk about after doing one of these – even if it’s just to commiserate over your bruises from rollerblading!

  1. Watch fantastic acts!

Watch some of the fantastic acts on the main stage including Darren Stanton, a body language expert also known as the human lie detector, and Sheila Ferguson singing songs from Three Degrees. There will also be live make-up tutorials from Gary Cockerill, make-up artist to the stars. The event is hosted by Joey Essex, who is looking for love at the event, and TV personality, and current psychotherapist in training, Melinda Messenger who will also be in The Sitting Room offering expert dating advice.

  1. Expert Advice

Throughout the event, there will be experts in dating offering advice at The Sitting Room, a space where you can discuss any dating questions you have. You can have a light-hearted look at your Tinder profile courtesy of Mr Tinder, Stefan Pierre-Tomlin, the most swiped man on Tinder.  And you can get advice on more serious concerns from Rosemary Hill, psychotherapeutic counsellor, and Dr Arthur Cassidy, a psychologist specialising in sexual chemistry.

  1. Relax with a drink!

Not everyone needs to rush around trying all of the games and events. Some people work best sitting down and scanning the crowd over a glass of prosecco or a pint from the pub. Look, rollerblading is all well and good, but maybe you’d rather the singles come to you. Take your time, have a drink and consider your options from the very bijoux Prosecco Van and Snooty Fox Pub.

  1. Stalls, products, and deals!

The venue is split into various zones focusing on different aspects of love, and each of these zones has interesting stalls and activities! In the Find Me Love Zone you can try out new apps, talk to dating companies and buy the latest books about dating. In the Find me Attractive zone you can explore new products and be styled by celebrity stylists. In Find me Out access lots of great ideas for dates with brilliant deals including free membership to  Fright Nights events and trips away.

If you’re someone who can’t miss a bargain, or you just like to see what’s new on the dating scene then a wander through the stalls would be a fun activity – and a bit of a break from all that speed dating!

  1. Romantic at heart?

If you love Ghost, anything by Richard Curtis, and staring lovingly into someone’s eyes then the roller rink may not be for you. Why not try some of the more romantic activities on offer at The Dating Show Live? Make pottery on the pottery wheel and re-enact the seminal scene from Ghost. Or sing a duet staring lovingly into someone else’s eyes. Or perhaps you would like to try dating in the dark? Who knows what might happen?

  1. Spend time with yourself

This event is not just for people trying to find someone. If you are single and wanting to work on yourself there is a whole zone dedicated to you – Find Me Amazing. In this zone you can practice yoga, have a healing session with an expert, and even learn some new skills. Being single can be a really great time to get to know yourself, why not take some time out to do it?
