Family pay tribute to man who sadly died following a collision on Pershore Road.

The family and friendsĀ of a man who was killed in a collision on Pershore Road in Selly Park last week have paid tribute to him.

Emergency services were dispatched the scene, at around 2:45PM on Thursday 8th September, following a collision involving a motorbike, a BMW X5 and a double decker bus near theĀ Sir Johns Rd junction.

Motorcyclist Daniel Hanks, aged 25, was treated by paramedics but despite their best efforts he sadly died at the scene.

Daniel’s family have released the following statement: ā€œDaniel was a loving son, brother, partner and dad. He was a keen car and bike enthusiast and was loved by all his family and friends.

ā€œWe want to appeal to anyone with information about what happened to Daniel to come forward, no matter how small the info you have may be.ā€

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Unit, added: “We have spoken to a number of witnesses who were at the scene, but we would still like to hear from anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to us.

“This has been a devastating tragedy forĀ Daniel’s family and his friends and our thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time.”

The driver of the BMW X5, a man, aged 45, was arrested at his home address a short time later and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
