Teenage boy suspected of taking a BMW without consent ends up in hospital.

A boy, aged 13, was taken to hospital on Sunday night (23/10) after it’s believed he took a BMW without the owners consent.

Officers, from Washwood Heath & Alum Rock Neighbourhood Policing Team, were called to Fernbank Road in Alum Rock, at around 9:30PM, following reports of a BMW colliding into a tree.

On arrival, crews found the boy and two passengers who had been hurt following the collision. The boy was taken to hospital with an arm injury.

Washwood Heath & Alum Rock Neighbourhood Policing Team, tweeted: “Absolute madness. RTC with a suspected 13 year old driver! It’s not big and it’s not clever.”

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police, said: “It is believed the car was taken without the owner’s consent and police enquiries are on-going.”
