Detectives have charged two men over an attempted robbery during which a man was shot in the arm.
Tyann McCooty, aged 21, and Damel Lebert, aged 20, are accused of trying to snatch jewellery from a group of three men on Northwood Street, at around 5.45pm on Sunday (07/05).
It’s alleged that during the attack a firearm was brandished and a man, aged 26, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.
He remains in hospital having undergone surgery; his injury is not life threatening.
McCooty, from Handsworth, and Lebert, from Fiveways, were arrested shortly after the incident and last night charged with attempted robbery, wounding and possession of a firearm.
McCooty has separately been charged with possessing a gun while prohibited from owning firearms.
Both men are due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning (09/05).
