Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the regional Collision Investigation Unit, is appealing for witnesses to come forward following a collision in Northfield on Wednesday morning (19/07).
The crash happened at the junction with Shenley Lane around 6am between a Corsa and a Jaguar.
The driver of the Corsa, a woman aged 20, was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the driver of the Jaguar was unharmed. He continues to assist collision investigators with their enquiries.
The road remained closed while emergency services were at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, said: “We are asking anyone who saw what happened to contact us. This is a busy junction and, although it was early, I am sure there were other motorists on the road at that time.”
