Detectives are appealing for information after a man was hit over the head with a baseball bat during an armed robbery in Jewellery Quarter.
The victim was approached by two masked men in Frederick Street who struck him and then grabbed jewellery just before 1PM on Tuesday (24/10).
The men are believed to have fled in two cars and the victim, aged in his 60s, has been taken to hospital with a head injury which is not life-threatening.
CCTV has been seized for analysis and officers are keen to be speak to anybody who was in the area at the time and not already spoken to officers.
Detective Inspector Chris Fox from Force CID, said: “This was a nasty robbery where a man was hit over the head with a baseball bat and suffered a head injury.
“It is important we identify whoever was responsible as soon as possible and I would appeal for any witnesses to what happened to get in touch immediately.”
