Lane restriction at Five Ways Underpass for Metro extension works.

-

Infrastructure works are progressing to extend the tram from New Street Station up to Five Ways. In order for the Midland Metro Alliance to construct the new tramway, the following traffic changes will be in place from Tuesday 16th January until further notice:

Five Ways underpass – Lane restrictions for both incoming and outgoing traffic on the Five Ways underpass to allow our team to work safely in the central reservation.

This project is part of a 10-year expansion of the tram network, owned by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), and includes new routes through Birmingham, Solihull, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Sandwell.

The Westside Extension will see Midland Metro trams travel from New Street Station, through Victoria Square and a redeveloped Paradise Circus, past Centenary Square, along Broad Street and through Five Ways before stopping in Hagley Road, Edgbaston.
