Chung Ying Cantonese Restaurant Ltd, on Thorp Street in the city centre, has today (15/3) been fined £30,000 after pleading guilty to fourteen food safety and hygiene offences at Birmingham magistrates court today.

Birmingham City Council Environmental Health officers found mouse droppings & food at risk of contamination during inspection of Chung Ying Gardens Cantonese Restaurant on Thorp Street on 16th December 2016.

Chung Ying Cantonese Restaurant Ltd, which has a number of venues across the city, was also ordered to pay £4,414 costs plus a £120 victim surcharge.
Chung Ying Cantonese Restaurant Ltd has since complied with Birmingham City Council Environmental Health and has been given a clean bill of heath.
