The Comedy About A Bank Robbery

23rd August – 8th September
Mischief Theatre, the guys behind The Play That Goes Wrong return with their West End success The Comedy About A Bank Robbery. A must for slapstick fans. Expect big laughs as a priceless diamond is entrusted to a city bank, where thanks to dodgy staff, corruption is rife. Can they take care of the precious gem without it all going awry? Hmmm… thought not!

The Messiah

18th – 27th October
Hugh Dennis, John Marquez and Lesley Garrett star in this comedy of biblical proportions. A travelling troupe of talent arrive in Birmingham on camel-back to hilariously re-enact the greatest, most famed story ever told, conjuring up the sublime, the ridiculous and the truly angelic. One of the most superbly enchanting and comedic nativities you are likely to see.

Stand Up at The Rep

7th September – 16th November
Not only is there an amazing round-up of humorous theatrics being hosted at The REP this year, they also have an array of outstanding, laugh a minute, stand-up fixtures too. Iain Stirling, Love Island’s thigh-slappingly funny narrator will be making an appearance, as will TV regular Chris Ramsey over this electric comedy season, with many, many more visiting the theatre to regale their brilliant stories.

Rebus: Long Shadows

20th September – 6th October
Grab a spot in the audience as Ian Rankin’s much applauded Rebus comes alive on stage for the first time. The story follows the fictional Detective as he returns from retirement, haunted by enemies and victims of the past, but determined to solve his last case. He’s off the wagon and on the trail of one killer he never managed to convict. A thriller to keep you gripped to the very end.

The Lovely Bones

30th October – 10th November
This Alice Sebold classic captured many hearts around the world, with the tale of Susie; a teenage girl who watches over her family as they struggle to come to terms with her tragic murder. This beautiful and unique adaptation follows Susie as she navigates her own feelings towards her death, having lost her life at such a young age. Expect your heart-strings tugged and tears aplenty.

The Snowman

16th– 26th January 2019
The Snowman, not only, celebrates its 40th anniversary but its 25th year on stage this year. This much-loved enchanting show tells the story of a young boy’s adventures when his snowman comes miraculously to life. Also, with the timeless ‘Walking In The Air’, this thrilling show is heart-meltingly perfect for all the family.

The Wizard of Oz

We’re sure this one needs no introduction! Follow the yellow brick road this winter, as this iconic story takes to stage at The REP. Dorothy and her loveable lot head to the Emerald City to unlock the secrets surrounding the mysterious Wizard of Oz, trying their best to avoid the Wicked Witch of the West on the way! This is a great seasonal gift for all the family.

This nostalgic experience is best enjoyed with a trusted pal, who has already seen those terrible moves of yours! G and Kayla’s lives aren’t taking the path they’d hoped for, but for one night, at a wedding with a free bar, they try their best to forget their troubles and throw themselves into a night of disco dancing.
