Man left seriously injured after being shot in the head in Wolverhampton.

A man has been left seriously injured after being shot in the head in Wolverhampton on Friday night (20/07). 

The man was taken to New Cross Hospital, at around 9:10PM, which has been partially sealed off by police whilst they investigate the incident. 

West Midlands Police has released the following statement: 

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which operates New Cross Hospital, has dispelled rumours suggesting shots were fired at the hospital this evening. There is a small cordon surrounding the car used in the incident, but the hospital is open as normal. 

A spokesperson from The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, said: “A man was brought in to the Emergency Department at New Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound. There were no gun shots fired at New Cross Hospital. The hospital is functioning as normal. No further comment can be made.”
