West Midlands Police have uncovered an organised criminal operation after responding to reports of a disorder in Hockley yesterday (30/01).
Officers from the Force Response Unit were called to Hive Industrial Estate on Factory Road in Hockley just before 2:30pm to reports of disorder involving up to 10 men, some with knifes.
On arrival offenders attempted to flee from the scene in a stolen car but were quickly blocked in by police and swiftly arrested.
Further enquires by police resulted in a cannabis factory, eight stolen vehicles and a ‘chop shop’ being located. Stolen vehicles included a Range Rover Evoque, 3 Ford Fiesta’s, a Nissan QASHQAI, a Honda Civic, a Quad Bike and Yamaha.
Along with the stolen vehicles officers also seized false number plate making equipment, including a laptop and blank number plates.

A statement issued by West Midlands Police read: “Police are investigating a disorder at an industrial estate in Factory Road, Hockley, yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 30 January) just before 2.30pm.”
“It is believed a group of up to 10 men were involved, some brandishing knives. No one was hurt.”
“Enquiries continue while a man arrested at the scene remains in police custody this morning (Thursday 31 January).”
