West Midlands Police have released CCTV footage in a bid to trace the people involved in a suspected targeted stabbing of a teenager in Birmingham.
Officers were called to Newhall Street outside the Central Academy school at around 3.10pm on Wednesday (11/03), where a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed several times with a machete.
He was taken to hospital, though his injuries are thankfully not serious.
An investigation is ongoing and a 15-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of assault last night, remains in custody this morning.
Sergeant Asaf Khan from CID, said: “Although the arrest is great progress, I am asking for anyone who recognises the people in this CCTV to speak to us.
“We need to trace the boys who think it’s acceptable to walk around with a knife and attack a schoolboy.
“I am also interested in hearing from witnesses who saw what happened and that have not yet spoken to us, as well as those with mobile phone or dashcam footage.”
