A mum and stepfather will appear at court today (24/11) accused of beating their toddler son to death at a house in Wolverhampton.
Police and paramedics were called to an address in Wednesfield High Street just before midnight on Sunday (20/11) where the boy, aged two-and-a-half, was found with head and body injuries.
He was sadly pronounced dead at hospital a short while later and a post mortem examination has shown he died from peritonitis as a result of blunt force trauma to his abdomen.
Last night the boy’s mum, Sindyann Regis, aged 25, and stepdad Chevaze Mcgregor, aged 27, were charged with murder.
Both will appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today where the charge will formally be put to them.
