Legna’s Chef Director/Owner Aktar Islam will be collaborating with Edinburgh Gin for an exclusive 5-course Seafood Banquet on May 31st.
Hosted by Aktar Islam (The F Word, Great British Menu, Opheem, Legna), this relaxed 5-course affair will be a homage to Italian cuisine as you take a seat in Legna’s luxurious outdoor, canal side private dining terrace. Flavours & ingredients take centre stage in both food & drink – with an authentic approach to create a real celebration of Italian summer.
Legna, is Aktar’s second new restaurant after the great success of Opheem. It takes his unrivalled passion for provenance of ingredients with fresh food prepared daily to deliver true Italian food as is rarely seen in the UK.
Pairing the incredible selection of award-winning Edinburgh Gins in both tonic & cocktail serves to heighten an exploration of Italian seafood dishes designed to be eaten as a family with large sharing portions of oysters, roasted whole fish dishes and pasta dishes.

The evening will include a 5-course sharing menu and drink pairings, including a welcome & after-dinner drink, covering the entire dynamic Edinburgh Gin range – including the brand-new release of Full-Strength Rhubarb & Ginger Gin 40%!
On the evening you will experience pairings across the entire Edinburgh Gin portfolio, a diverse range designed for every drinking experience. Expect a fully immersive culinary experience – featuring the original masterpiece, Edinburgh Gin Classic Gin, a traditional London Dry. Edinburgh Gin Seaside, created by foraging for unique botanical’s along Scotland’s East Coast beaches; bladderwrack seaweed, scurvy grass and ground ivy create a savoury and refreshing gin. And the final in Edinburgh Gin’s core range, a ‘navy strength’, Edinburgh Gin Cannonball bottled at 57.2% abv with a double shot of juniper within the recipe, it is a real treat for London dry style gin enthusiasts. The flavour experience continues with Edinburgh Gin liqueurs: Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry, Elderflower, Pomegranate and Rose, Plum & Vanilla & the latest edition Apple & Spice.
