Due to huge demand, Birmingham Ormiston Academy has proudly announced a brand-new Foundation Course in Professional Performance Musical Theatre, starting this September. This is the first time the academy, which is listed in The Stage as one of the country’s top performing arts schools, is welcoming post-18 students.
Those signing up to the course will gain professional and practical training in acting, singing and dancing; also benefitting from access to West End directors, choreographers and agents along the way.
The course is aimed towards students who already have some musical theatre training and are looking to improve their technique in all three areas, immersing themselves even further into the unique discipline.
There is no academic requirement for the full-time programme and applicants will be invited to audition for entry in June (22nd – 30th), when they’ll be required to demonstrate ability in acting, singing and dancing – followed by a short interview.
The nine-month course functions to expand practical skills; therefore there is no formal qualification attached. Instead, it has been designed to help strengthen audition techniques, prepare those wanting to move onto a full degree course and cultivate passion in musical theatre students, alongside talented and knowledgeable creative teams.
Applications will be open soon, so keep an eye on https://www.boa-academy.co.uk/ for more details.
