A chocolate diplodocus has hatched from its egg at Cadbury World as the attraction’s talented team of in-house chocolatiers celebrate the Birmingham-based leg of ‘Dippy on Tour’.
The solid milk chocolate design has been almost entirely hand-sculpted and finished with the attention to detail synonymous with the famed team of chocolatiers. Baby Dippy as he is affectionally known, along with his egg weigh in at almost 30kg – the equivalent of 667 bars of standard Cadbury Dairy Milk – and measuring 45cm tall, the Jurassic creation took 2 chocolatiers 2 days to bring to life. And for us, probably a few hours to eat!
Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World said: “Our artistic chocolatiers are renowned for making magnificent creations to mark a vast variety of special occasions, and this latest masterpiece demonstrates their creativity and world class skills.
“We’re delighted to welcome Dippy on Tour to our wonderful city and couldn’t be happier to be part of the celebrations. Our chocolate creation will be on display at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery from 3rd July – we can’t wait for everyone to see him!”
Visitors can catch the Natural History Museum’s popular Diplodocus at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery until 9th September where entry to the exhibition is free of charge.
