Cyclist sadly dies following a collision with a lorry in Edgbaston.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Unit, is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Edgbaston on Monday (09/10).

Emergency services were called to the junction of Edgbaston Road and Pershore Road ‪at around 4pm‬ following the collision involving a lorry and a female cyclist.

The woman, aged 34, was treated by paramedics but despite their best efforts was sadly pronounced dead at the scene; the lorry driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with investigations.

Sergeant Wood, said: “This investigation is in its early stages and we are trying to establish exactly what happened. We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision who hasn’t yet spoken to us to get in touch.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who lost her life. We have specialist officers are supporting them at this difficult time.”
