Museums, galleries and heritage sites across the UK open their doors for exciting evening events and spectacular night-time displays as part of the Museums at Night Festival 2019 this October and November. Explore art, history and heritage after dark in Birmingham at Thinktank and the Museum and Art Gallery this year with two fantastic events for a unique experience for the whole family.

Spooky Science Night at Thinktank: Birmingham’s Science Museum

Thinktank at Millenium Point will be hosting an evening of spooky science for the whole family on the evening of Halloween – Thursday 31st October – from 6.00pm – 9.00pm. See the incredible ‘Trick or Treat ’ show (where every choice will lead to either a delightful or disgusting experiment), enter the slime lab to experiment with making your very own slime, dance the night away at the silent Zombie Disco, make your own family light photos and come along in fancy dress to be entered into a fantastic prize draw on the night!

Please note that the science garden will not be open on the night due to health and safety requirements regarding low light levels.

Tickets are priced at Child: £9.00, Adult: £6.50 and Concession and Senior Price: £6.50

Edwardian Tearooms Late: Museums at Night Festival with Hidden Spaces

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery are hosting an exclusive after-hours event with Hidden Spaces on Saturday 2nd November, which will include dinner and live music in the Edwardian Tearooms and a chance to explore the museum by torchlight while listening to ghost stories.

With a menu that includes Moroccan pulled lamb mezzaluna flatbread, hummus, tortilla chips dressed with citrus salsa & guacamole Kedgeree arancini, wholegrain mustard creamed leeks Vegan chickpea, spinach & aubergine curry, basmati rice & coriander poppadum salad in the beautiful Edwardian Tearooms, this special Halloween themed night will include a 45 minute torch-lit tour of the Museum & Art Gallery. The bar will be open for the duration of the evening and will host lots of live music.

There are three time slots available for this unique event:

Ticket 1: Dinner at 6.30pm followed by a tour at 8pm
Ticket 2: Dinner at 7.30pm followed by a tour at 9pm
Ticket 3: Tour at 7pm followed by dinner at 8pm Please ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your time slot.
