What better way to treat your pops, than by spending some quality time with him this up and coming Father’s Day (17/06). We are sure over the years you have majorly dented his bank balance in one way or another, so one day of spoiling him rotten has surely got to be done. Luckily, Birmingham is awash of places where you can take him for a lads lunch! Beats a Toblerone, doesn’t it?

New venture Kilder is the ultimate place to take your pa for celebrations. They have everything he could want, and possibly more! The best of British produce is the theme of things here, with the bar serving only highest quality craft beers, natural wines and ciders. Bar snacks are the main focus of the menu with sharing plates and small snacks to tease the appetite. Meat and cheese boards are the star, but we’d recommend their hearty grilled cheese sarnies. Tamworth ham from Paddock Farm with a luxury cheese blend and English mustard on a classic white tin loaf is going to put a smile on someone’s face, that’s for sure.

Pure Craft Bar & Kitchen

Another one for a beer lover and we know a few fathers who absolutely fit that bill! Again, their small plates are an absolute treat for healthy appetites. It seems their Scotch Egg with Purity Beer Ketchup is a must, the amount we have heard about it! A roast here will set you right too! A great way to enjoy Father’s Day with all the family. With 6 cask, 16 craft beers on draft and 60 international beers housed behind the bar there is no way the hero of the hour will go thirsty, who knows that might even keep him quiet for an hour or two!

Served from noon til 5pm everyday of the week is a Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea! Which for the price sounds amazing! A quintessentially British round up of treats awaits with your choice of a pint or glass of wine too. A selection of finger sandwiches with classics, such as the Beef and Horseradish and Cheese and Onion will arrive, followed by a scone, some fudge cake and a cuppa. What more could you want? A must if you live a little out of the city.

1565 at Park Regis

If your Dad has a sweet-tooth then book at the 1565 with immediate effect! The satisfying steak sandwich, BBQ pulled pork slider and crispy battered mackerel are fantastic but the desserts top them off a treat. Homemade sweet and savoury scones are present, along with tarts, sponges and macaroons. To name just a few! Again, copious amounts of tea will quench thirsts, as well as the alcoholic beverages available behind the bar! If your Dad appreciates the finer things in life, this is the one for him.

The Lost and Found

Another afternoon tea special is available at The Lost and Found if you are (quite ironically) lost for new ideas on how to treat your Dad. The array of savoury treats on offer go down perfectly well with a whisky or rum tipple, so we’re told! This one is a little up-market with flat-breads replacing finger sandwiches. The likes of which include spiced lamb kofta and piri-piri chicken options. Scones, chocolate treats and popcorn to snack on in between are also ideal as you sip on generous helpings of tea. You’ll definitely be in the good books!
