New venture Kilder is the ultimate place to take your pa for celebrations. They have everything he could want, and more! Best of British is the theme of things here, with the bar serving only highest quality craft beers, natural wines and ciders. Bar snacks are the main focus of the menu with sharing plates and small snacks to tease the appetite. Meat and cheese boards are the star, but we’d recommend their hearty grilled cheese sarnies. Tamworth ham from Paddock Farm, a luxury cheese blend and English mustard served on a classic white tin loaf is going to put a smile on someone’s face, that’s for sure.

Another one for a beer lover, and we know a fair few fathers who fit that bill! Much like Kilder, their small plates are an absolute treat for healthy appetites. It seems their Scotch Egg with Purity Beer Ketchup is a must, judging by the raving reviews it receives! A roast here will set you right too! A great way to enjoy Father’s Day with all the family. With 6 cask, 16 craft beers on draft and 60 international beers housed behind the bar there is no way the hero of the hour will go thirsty, who knows it might even keep him quiet for an hour or two!

Served from noon til 5pm everyday of the week is a Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea; which for the price sounds amazing! A quintessentially British round up of treats awaits with your choice of pint or glass of wine too. A selection of classic finger sandwiches, such as, the Beef and Horseradish and Cheese and Onion, will arrive followed by a scone, some fudge cake and a cuppa. What more could you want? A must if you live a little out of the city.

If your Dad has a sweet-tooth then you must book at the 1565 with immediate effect! The satisfying steak sandwich, BBQ pulled pork slider and crispy battered mackerel are fantastic but the desserts certainly top them off a treat. Homemade sweet and savoury scones are present, along with tarts, sponges and macaroons; to name but a few! Again, copious amounts of tea will quench thirsts, as well as their selection of alcoholic beverages! If your Dad appreciates the finer things in life, this is the one for him.

Another afternoon tea special is available at The Lost and Found, if you are (quite ironically) lost for ideas on how to treat your father figure. The array of savoury treats on offer go down perfectly well with a whisky or rum tipple…so we’re told! This one is a little up-market with flat-breads replacing sarnies. The likes of which, include, spiced lamb kofta and piri-piri chicken options. Scones, chocolate treats and popcorn to snack on in between are also ideal as you sip on generous helpings of tea. You’ll definitely be in the good books!
