Firefighters from across the region were called to Hickory’s Smokehouse on Kidderminster Road in Wall Heath, at around 3AM this morning (25/08), following multiple 999 calls.
A total of 12 crews from West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) attended the scene with an aerial platform also sent to control the fire and stop it from spreading.
Kidderminster Road has been closed in both directions between Lodge Lane and Swindon Road whilst crews with the incident.
WMFS Station Commander Russ Gauden said: “Hickory’s smoke house involved in a severe fire, can members of the public please keep clear of the area as the A449.
“Due to the ongoing incident at Hickorys Smoke house, the A449 will be closed in both directions.
“WMFS working assertively to protect Kingfisher Hotel and leisure complex.”
