The national treasure is opening its 9th store in the city centre in early march. This is certain to be welcomed by the legions of commuters walking through the station each day. Since its beginnings up north, Greggs has been favoured by Brits across the land who find a little comfort in their piping hot pasties, bursting baguettes and delicious doughnuts.
The store will offer a much more homely stack of snacks compared to its New Street neighbours, Leon, Pret A Manger, Wasabi and Five Guys. Cheap and cheerful, can be just what the doctor ordered after a taxing day in the office, or just for that hump day lunch-time treat.
As fans may already know, over the past few days, the menu has seen some tasty additions. So when the doors swing open in early spring, Greggs devotees will be able to purchase some of these scrumptious new offerings, as well as the trusty old faithful’s.
If you take savoury over sweet, the new options will be a must for you. Greggs are introducing a street-food inspired Spicy Calzone packed with chicken, ham and pork & beef meatballs surrounded in spicy tomato sauce and a cheesy casing. Along with a Spicy Chicken and Pepperoni Bake, both sizzling selections perfect for keeping toasty as wintery weather rages on. Carrying on the Italian theme the bakers have also introduced a Three Cheese Pizza, oozing with rich Cheddar, Mozzarella and Gouda. And for those who would like to gift themselves and their co-workers (if they’re lucky!) a sweet treat an exceedingly moreish Salted Caramel Doughnut will be available too!
Our mouths are watering already. It is going to be a long wait ‘til March!
