Help save Twycross Zoo from extinction

-

Twycross Zoo has sounded a plea for those far and wide to consider donating towards keeping the zoo up and running at this incredibly difficult time.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak which has left the country almost unable to move since March – sites which rely on the public such as zoo’s, are especially hard hit.

Twycross Zoo have stated ‘Despite our long history we have never needed the support of our communities more than now. We are calling on you to celebrate our past and protect our future.

It costs over half a £million per month to keep Twycross Zoo running at a minimum and we need your help to ensure that the great work we do can continue into the future.’

Twycross Zoo’s CEO, Dr Sharon Redrobe OBE said ‘As a charity we are experiencing uncertain times and we have never needed our visitors, supporters and our wider zoo community to come together more than we do today.’

Twycross Zoo looks after a huge variety of animals, which require an equally huge amount of care. With around 500 animals of 125 species of bigger animals, including many endangered species – from great apes, to giraffes, leopards, zebra’s and tigers – the zoo is asking the public to consider supporting in a number of ways:

  • Donate Online
  • Buy a Zoo membership
