An investigation has been launched after a man was shot on Thorp StreeĀ in the early hours of this morning (29/08).
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at around 4:40AM, to reports of a man being shot in the leg.
On arrival, crews found the man, aged 18, in the street with non-life threatening injuries and is in a stable condition.
The scene is currently sealed off as part of the investigation.
Inspector Christian Wilkins, from West Midlands Police, said: “We believe this to be a targeted attack and fortunately the manās injuries are not life threatening.
“We have conducted a detailed forensic search of the area, Thorpe Street at Hurst and Bristol Street will remain closed this morning as part of the investigation.”
