West Midlands Police have today (25/02) arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the bodies of two people were found in Oldbury.

Emergency services were called to an address in Moat Road following concerns for the welfare of the people living there.

Officers forced their way into the property at around 4am, and found a man and a woman aged 54 and 52 respectively.

Sadly, they were both pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 5.30am, officers arrested a 25-year-old man at an address in Smethwick on suspicion of two murders.

He remains in custody this morning.

Initial investigations have lead police to believe that this is a domestic-related incident, with no threat to the wider community.

The victims’ family is being support at this tragic time.
