Emergency services were dispatched to Birmingham Women’s Hospital this morning (12/04), following reports of an incident.
On arrival, crews found a man, aged 27, with a minor stab injury in the car park outside the front of the building.
He was taken to the nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Officers have launched an investigation into the matter and believe it was an isolated incident. However; No arrests have been made at the stage.
A Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust has released the following statement: “We can confirm that there was an incident this morning on the front car park of our Women’s Hospital involving two members of the public.
This resulted in one requiring immediate treatment for a minor injury.
This is an isolated incident and we’re working closely with the police as part of their investigation.”
Witnesses are urged to call West Midlands Police on 101 if they have ANY information.
