Detective Inspector Harry Harrison, from the force’s homicide team, has launched a murder investigation after a woman has died following a stabbing at a property in Small Heath this morning (12/07).

Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, were dispatched to Aubrey Road, at around 11.05AM, following reports of several people being stabbed.

A woman, aged 86, was confirmed dead at the scene and a man, aged 18, has been taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds which are not believed to be life-threatening. Another man suffered a minor injury.

The scene has been cordoned off while investigations are carried out.

House-to-house enquiries are being conducted and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

DI Harrison, said: “A woman has tragically died and we are working hard to establish the circumstances around what has happened.

“Two others have been injured and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have information which can assist our enquiries.”
