From Sunday 24th March 2019 National Express West Midlands is making a number of changes to several services across Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country.

  • Service 1 – Birmingham Five Ways and Fox Hollies & Service 1A – University / QE Hospital and Fox Hollies

There will be several route changes on the 1 / 1A services from Sunday 24th March.

Between Shaftmoor Lane and Acocks Green Village services will run via Olton Boulevard East and Shirley Road in both directions. They will no longer use Summer Road or Westley Road.

The Acocks Green Village loop via Shirley Road, Dolphin Lane and Olton Boulevard East will be withdrawn. The nearest stops on the 1 / 1A will be on Olton Boulevard East just west of Shirley Road (towards Moseley) and on Shirley Road just north of Olton Boulevard East (on both sides of the road). Evening journeys will serve both the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Five Ways on a one-way loop.

The timetable has also been revised to improve the reliability of these services. View the new 1/1A timetable.

  • Service 4 – Birmingham to Solihull & Service 4A – Birmingham to Gospel Oak

The timetable has been revised on both routes to enable us to run more journeys on the 4 service between Acocks Green and Solihull, this will run up to every 7 minutes.

There will be a slight reduction in journeys on the 4A service between Acocks Green and Gospel Oak, this will continue to run up to every 15 minutes.

  • Services 11 & 11A – Walsall to Dudley

A revised weekday timetable will be introduced on these services from 24th March 2019. No changes will be made to the route.

  • Service 23 – Birmingham to Bartley Green

The route will be extended from Newman University via Cromwell Lane and Moors Lane, and will terminate at the junction of Genners Lane. Towards Birmingham this service will run along Genners Lane.

Subsequently, the timetable for this service has been revised. View the new 23 timetable.

  • Service 31 – Solihull to Acocks Green

The route will be extended from Solihull Station to Solihull Poplar Road to give better access to the town centre. The boarding stop in Solihull town centre will be Stop SL near John Lewis.

In Acocks Green the 31 will run a one way loop to serve Lidl. From Olton Boulevard East, the route will serve Fox Hollies Road, Westley Road, Acocks Green Village and Shirley Road.

Buses will also run more often, up to every 20 minutes Monday – Friday, and up to every 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. View the new 31 timetable.

  • Services 45 & 47 – Birmingham to Longbridge

Both routes will be extended in Longbridge and terminate on Bristol Road South to give better connections to other services. Journeys to Birmingham will continue to start opposite Bournville College on Longbridge Lane.

There are no changes being made to the timetables on these services.

  • Service 58 – Solihull to Yardley

The boarding stop for this service in Solihull town centre will change to Stop SD on Poplar Road.

There are no changes being made to the timetable on this service.

  • Services 61 & 63 – Birmingham to Frankley

The 61 service will now run between Holly Hill Road and Arden Road via New Street, Boleyn Road and Ormond Road in both directions, to give quicker journeys to and from Northfield.

The timetable on both routes has been revised following the end of the Birmingham Cycle Revolution roadworks. View the new 61/63 timetable.

  • Service X20 – Birmingham to Cofton Hackett & Service X21 – Birmingham to Woodcock Hill

Both routes will serve the Harborne Lane / Gibbins Road bus stop in both directions to give better access to Selly Oak shopping park and Sainsbury’s.

There are no changes being made to the timetables on these services.
