National Express West Midlands bus timetables are changing on Tuesday 14 April 2020 – immediately after the Easter bank holidays. Customers are being urged to check before they travel.
All buses will still be operating on the same routes as they do now, but the timings of buses will be revised on many routes to make journeys quicker. First buses will continue to leave at roughly the same time, but customers should check the website nxbus.co.uk for exact timings. Most last buses will not change.
National Express West Midlands Commercial Director, Chris Gibbens, said: “People in the West Midlands are complying with government rules on staying at home and only travelling when absolutely necessary.
“We are responding to customer feedback about what key workers need from us at the moment. I’d like to thank everyone who has been in touch to tell us whether our services are working for them.
“We are now tweaking how often the buses run. On some routes, we are adding buses and making the service more frequent. Routes that take key workers to hospitals – such as the 59 to Wolverhampton’s New Cross and the 11 to Birmingham’s City Hospital and the QE – will be getting a more frequent service.
“Most routes will have buses arriving as often as they do at the moment, but the timetables will be different, so I’d encourage customers to check the website nxbus.co.uk before they travel next week after the Easter holidays.
“We have worked closely with Transport for West Midlands through the Bus Alliance to ensure that the bus network continues to provide the essential lifeline to our frontline workers in these difficult times.”
