On Monday 30th October Peaky Blinders will be coming home to Birmingham for the premiere of the new series before it returns to BBC Two next month.

The cast and production team behind the internationally acclaimed drama are coming to the city and inviting fans to join them for a look at the new series.

At this unmissable red carpet evening the cast planning to attend include Peaky Blinders’ stars Cillian Murphy (Tommy Shelby), Helen McCrory (Polly Gray) Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby), Sophie Rundle (Ada Shelby), Harry Kirton (Finn Shelby) and Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs). Stars new to the series, Charlie Murphy and Aidan Gillen, will also join the show’s producers and Birmingham-born writer/creator Steven Knight.

In the new series – returning to BBC Two next month – Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) is pursued by a new enemy who threatens to annihilate his entire family. Fleeing his country house, Tommy returns to the only safe place he knows: Small Heath, Birmingham.

BBC Birmingham is inviting members of the public to register for free tickets for the premiere event from 9am Monday 16th October on the BBC Shows and Tours website. Golden ticket winners will then be selected at random to watch the live red carpet arrivals and the first episode of the new series at Cineworld Birmingham which is followed by a panel session with the cast and Steven Knight hosted by Edith Bowman.

Fans are encouraged to don their flat caps and get in the mood by dressing in the Peaky Blinders style. There will be street entertainment and music at the live red carpet event from 5pm on Monday 30th October on Bishopsgate Street, Birmingham.

Steven Knight says: “I’m delighted that, once again, Peaky Blinders will premiere in Birmingham where it belongs. It’s always a fantastic occasion and myself and the cast can’t wait to be there.”

Joe Godwin, Director of BBC Birmingham, says: “Last year’s Peaky Blinders premiere was a real moment for Brummies and this year promises to be even better. We are honoured to be hosting it again and are very proud to welcome back the hugely talented cast and production team who we know will receive an incredible reception from local fans once again.”
