British Transport detectives investigating a serious incident at Solihull station are today (12/03) appealing for witnesses.
On Tuesday 10 March between 12.20pm and 12.30pm, a woman entered the ladies toilets on platform one at Solihull station.
A man followed her into the toilets and pushed her from behind into one of the cubicles.
He grabbed her and demanded sex. Thankfully the woman was able to fight back, and the man left the toilet when she threatened to call the police.
He is described as black, around 5ft10, and of athletic build. He is believed to be in his mid-thirties and was wearing a dark thigh-length jacket and a thin scarf. He appeared to have a foreign accent.
Detective Constable Tim Friend said: “This was a deeply concerning incident, and we are working tirelessly to find the person responsible.
“Thankfully incidents like this are extremely rare and passengers can expect to see a visible presence of officers at the station this week.
“I’d urgently ask anyone who may have been on platform one at this time on Tuesday 10th March or who may have noticed anyone matching this description in the station to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
“You can do this by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 239 of 10/03/20. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
