Police appeal for information following fatal Aston collision

-

Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was hit by a car in Aston on Friday afternoon (26/04).

Officers were called to Park Lane in Aston just before 4pm where a 74-year-old Handsworth woman had been struck by a black BMW as she crossed the road.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but sadly died yesterday evening. Her family are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.

PC Mark Crozier, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“A lady has tragically lost her life and our thoughts are with her family at this terribly traumatic time.

“We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to help us establish the circumstances of this collision.

“We would appeal to any driver on Park Lane who may have dash cam footage at around the time of the collision to contact us.”

Anyone with information can call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101; quoting log number 1598 of 26 April. Alternatively contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at west -midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight.
