West Midlands Police have charged a man suspected of stealing Christmas presents from under trees during a burglary spree in the early hours of Christmas morning.
Officers arrested Dexter Foster yesterday morning over a series of burglaries in the Stirchley area and last night the 22-year-old was charged with five burglaries plus two counts of taking vehicles without the owners’ consent.
It’s alleged Foster forced entry to two homes in Shirley Road and another in Dell Road, Stirchley, in the early hours of 25 December and made off with televisions, phones, electrical gadgets and pushbikes.
Many of the items stolen by Dexter were Christmas presents, some of which have since been recovered by officers.
Foster is also accused of an overnight burglary between 3-4 December in Victoria Road when the victim’s Ford Transit van was taken, and another in the early hours of 3 January in Lea House Road where a Ford KA was taken.
Dexter is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (09/01).
